The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites online applications for 1 post of Junior Technical Officer (Sugar Technology) at the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, under the Department of Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. The post is a General Central Service, Group-A, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial, permanent position on the Level-10 pay matrix, with a one-year probation period. Selected officers will take up teaching, research, and advisory responsibilities in sugar technology, along with any other work assigned by senior officers or the Director. Eligibility

Age: not exceeding 38 years (OBC) as on the closing date, with 10 years' additional relaxation for PwBD candidates. Educational qualification: a Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering from a recognized university or institute, together with either an Associateship in Sugar Technology or a Post-graduate Diploma in Sugar Technology from a recognized university or institute. Experience: either 3 years of teaching, research, or advisory work in sugar technology, or 3 years of practical experience in a sugar factory in a managerial capacity. Desirable: M.Sc. (Chemistry) or M.Tech (Sugar Technology), and experience in drafting or editing scientific/technological reports. This post is suitable for PwBD candidates in the OL, OA, LC, DW, and AAV categories.

Responsibilities

Teaching, research, and advisory work in sugar technology at the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur, along with any other duties assigned by senior officers or the Director. The selected candidate will be liable to serve anywhere in India.
