About the role
📝 Duties & Responsibilities
Key Duties
- Monitor the State Anti Fraud Unit medical review workflow so claims, pre-authorisations and hospitalisation records are reviewed within prescribed timelines
- Ensure audits of NAFU-triggered cases within stipulated timelines and act on suspicious cases per the Anti-Fraud Guidelines
- Conduct audits of auto-adjudicated cases per NHA guidelines and submit reports to the National Health Authority
- Supervise random beneficiary visits/audits and post-discharge audits from a clinical verification standpoint
- Visit EHCPs and districts to supervise District Medical Officers acting as Anti Fraud Officers; mentor DMOs on clinical protocols and documentation standards
- Monitor and refine medical/clinical fraud triggers in IT systems; analyse claims and pre-authorisation data to identify outlier or aberrant cases
- Comparative analysis of empanelled providers on utilisation, procedure mix, outcomes, referral and disenrollment patterns
- Supervise medical audit checklists, STG references and post-audit closure trackers; report indicators including the monthly MIS return to NHA
- Provide evidence-based medical inputs to the CEO, SHA on claim rejection, provider suspension and de-empanelment; inputs on show-cause notices to EHCPs
- Liaise with the National Anti-Fraud Unit (NHA) medical function
- Any other work assigned by the CEO, AAAS
Eligibility Requirements
Education Required
- MBBS from a recognised university, registered with the Assam Medical Council / National Medical Commission (or equivalent State Medical Council)
Experience Required
- required: Minimum 5 years post-qualification clinical/professional experience, including at least 2–3 years in health insurance claims processing, medical audit, hospital administration, or a government-funded health assurance/insurance scheme (e.g., AB-PMJAY, RSBY, ESIC, CGHS, or private TPA/insurer)
